Facing Pages

New Made for iPhone Duo

Stories that open
like a book.

The language you’re learning on one page, your own on the other, matched sentence by sentence across the fold.

Tap any sentence. Its partner lights up across the fold.

01 iPhone Duo

A book has always opened in two. Now your phone does too.

Facing Pages was built for iPhone Duo from the first page. The story divides exactly at the fold, no word ever lands in the crease, and every story’s photograph runs across both screens like the plate at the start of a chapter.

Close it a little and the shadow along the fold deepens, the way a real book’s does.

Made for iPhone Duo from day one.

Open, like a book.

Your language on the facing page. Tap a sentence and its pair lights up. Scroll one page and the other follows.

Upright, the pages stack.

Turn your Duo on its side and the story sits above the fold, your language below it.

Closed, a pocket book.

Fold it shut and read one page. Tap any sentence and its translation slides up.

02 Try it

Tap a sentence. Then tap a word.

This is the reader, with a real story. Every sentence is paired with its translation, and every word knows what it means in that sentence: in Emma’s first line, perdida is “lost”, not a list of dictionary guesses.

Each sentence on the Spanish or French page is a button. Press it to see the sentence in English in the panel after the reader, with every word explained.

Tap any sentence on the left page.

03 Any iPhone

No Duo? It reads beautifully on any iPhone.

On iPhone you get one page in the language you’re learning, set like a good paperback. Tap a sentence and its translation slides up, with every word ready to look up, save or hear.

  • Hold it sideways for a wide, photo-led page
  • On iPad, the full two-page spread
  • Your words, bookmarks and place follow you between stories

04 The library

228 original stories, set in real places.

Written for learners, edited by hand, and each one opening on a photograph: a first day lost on the Mexico City metro, lavender season in Provence, a violin maker’s winter in Quebec.
